Hitimisho
SACCOs nchini Tanzania zinaweza kutumia mfumo huu kufanikisha uaminifu na uwazi miongoni mwa wanachama wao. Itawasaidia pia kwenye malipo na kupunguza ubadhilifu.
One of the many goals for us with CAMS is to ensure transparency in payments. To achieve that, we continue to improve our accounting system on the admin portal so the admins have all the information related to fees paid and invoices generated.
Fee payment for SACCOs
Our accounting system generates invoices with a valid receipt number and a QR code approved by the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA). Your SACCO can scan this QR code to confirm the invoice and ensure accurate payment information.
The invoice includes:
- A valid receipt number and a QR code
- Type of payment
- Total amount
- Date of payment
- Tax deducted
With such a system, your SACCO can keep track of every fee payment and invoice generated using the admin portal. It will eventually bring more trust to the system and ensure a better payment experience.
Easier payment for members
We are working to make payments easier for SACCOs with support for more mobile network operators and banks on CAMS. It will enable members to choose their preferred method, including a wallet or a bank account to make contributions and receive loan amounts.
Furthermore, SACCO members can either make contributions or loan repayments using CAMS mobile app or the USSD Direct method.
- Using the CAMS mobile app, they can easily log in to contribute using their preferred MNO or banks supported by their SACCO. As they continue to make the payment, they will get a confirmation message on their mobile phone. Once accepted, the payment will be complete.
- Using the USSD Direct method on a feature phone, members can press USSD codes to start the payment process, e.g., *150*01# for TigoPesa. They will also need a business number and payment reference number provided by their SACCO.
Conclusion
SACCOs in Tanzania can use these systems to achieve better trust and transparency amongst members. It will also help them bring clarity to payments and reduce the chances of fraud.
