Finally, we are open for business in Uganda
Earlier this week, we proudly inaugurated our offices in Kampala, Uganda, welcoming a large number of guests. The CEO, COO, and CPO of the Wakandi Group were in attendance, and it was evident that the three gentlemen from Norway were excited and proud of this milestone. Additionally, H.E. Tone Tone Tinnes, Ambassador to Tanzania, Uganda, and Rwanda, honoured us alongside Heidi M. Dahl, Director of Innovation Norway, Africa. Representatives from SACCOs, encompassing over 100,000 members, were also there, contributing to a positive atmosphere. Our sales team actively demonstrated our system and the services we could provide.
Wakandi Uganda began three years ago when we first approached the Bank of Uganda to share our value proposition for the informal sector. The feedback and willingness to interact and discuss it with us have been there from the start and continue until now.
From the outset, we have received invaluable support and guidance from various stakeholders. While there are many to thank, here are a few:
We sincerely appreciate:
- The Bank of Uganda for their steadfast support in obtaining our PSO license and continued guidance.
- General Secretary of the Uganda Cooperative Alliance: Mr. Ivan Assimwe and his team for their guidance and continued support.
- The Executive Director of AMFIU: Jacqueline Mbabazi
Now that our staff are settled and all licences are secured, we are ready to onboard thousands of SACCO members. It’s time to execute, and we can’t wait to make it all happen.
With that, we officially declare Wakandi Uganda open for business.
