Today, in Dar Es Salaam, TAMFI and Wakandi Tanzania signed a commercial contract that has been in the making for quite some time. TAMFI is the umbrella organisation for licensed MFIs all over Tanzania and serves about 160 MFIs with approximately 1,2 million users.
This collaboration is important as increased pressure from BOT (Bank of Tanzania) is being applied to the many MFIs that operate without proper licensing. There is also increased pressure on the country's MFIs to acquire an IT system to ensure compliance and governance in the organisations.
Wakandi represents the solution to these problems. In this joint partnership, we will address the market needs together and succeed as partners. Today’s signing was conducted by Devotha Minzi, TAMFI Board Chairperson, and Espen Kvelland, Director in Wakandi Tanzania.
The signing ceremony was conducted at the Norwegian Embassy Residence in Dar Es Salaam, pictured here with:
Espen Kvelland, Director of Wakandi Tanzania and Group CEO, captivated the audience as he shared the inspiring journey of how Wakandi’s story began in Tanzania and how the company has grown and evolved into the innovative organization it is today.
