This is a senior leadership role with full responsibility for sales performance, operational excellence, and team development in a fast-growing fintech environment delivering innovative digital solutions across the financial sector.
The role is highly strategic and hands-on, ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is ready to act as the primary and second-in-command to the Managing Director while driving business growth and organisational success.

Role overview
As Head of Sales, you will act as the strategic right hand to the Managing Director, overseeing all aspects of the Sales and Success function in Tanzania. You will be responsible for ensuring that the department is fully optimised, compliant, and consistently delivering defined KPIs and budgets.
You will lead by example by driving sales performance, building a strong, motivated team, and implementing Wakandi’s sales methodologies and systems. The role also requires active involvement in customer acquisition, relationship management, and market engagement, while ensuring a world-class customer experience aligned with Wakandi’s strategy.
Key responsibilities

Lead, build, and maintain a high-performing Sales and Success team

Own and deliver on revenue targets, KPIs, and departmental budgets

Act as deputy to the Managing Director, ensuring operational continuity and execution

Drive customer acquisition and growth of existing accounts

Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and company policies

Implement and maintain Wakandi’s sales methodologies, tools, and CRM systems

Provide continuous training, coaching, and performance management for team members

Proactively engage in customer-facing activities and strategic partnerships

Monitor market trends and maintain strong market intelligence

Ensure clear execution of all commercial and operational requirements

Collaborate with internal and regional stakeholders to support business objectives

Build long-term strategic relationships with key customers and partners

Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of higher education (BSc degree or similar), preferably in Business, Finance, or related fields
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in fintech, telecom, or related industries
- Minimum 3+ years of managerial experience with customer interaction and team responsibility
- Proven track record in sales leadership, business development, or commercial roles
- Strong communication, organisational, and negotiation skills
- Fluent in English and Kiswahili (written and spoken)
- Strong presentation and public speaking skills
- IT-literate with experience using CRM systems and digital tools
- Strong understanding of business operations and commercial strategy
